NIK COLLECTION AND PHOTOSHOP CC 2018. HOW TO USE NIK COLLECTION ON PHOTOSHOP CC 2018 ON A MAC. Neist Point (Scotland, 2017). Please address the problem of the brush not working in Nik Software – High Sierra. For example – you have an image open and you only want to apply total contrast, for example, to the sky – you would use the brush. After installing Photoshop CC 2018, I couldn't get Nik Software tools to work. Even after copying over the folder to the new location. I decided to restart my machine again. Bobthearch wrote: They added DxO logos and improved compatibility with some Apple computers. We had a good discussion about the differences here: You can also still get Nik Collection free from DxO. They call that version 'Nik Collection 2012.' You just trade them your email address for a download link: Wow, somehow missed that thread in my search! Thanks for the well-investigated post. I was hoping there would be a fix to the layer-building crash issue but even if there was, that alone would not warrant the purchase! Peaceful Aum Namah Shivaya Mantra Complete! It felt weird paying for it again but at least now the selective brush tool is working correctly with PS 2018. They list a couple of other 'updates' as well.I don't know if you have seen this page but here it is regardless: $60 is well worth the expense, hopefully they bring more features in the future! Do certain suites like Color Effects still crash when set to create a new layer on applying? Slightly annoying to copy layers multiple times. In the 2012 version certain ones work (DFine) but others (Color effects) crashes every single time. Nik Software Free DownloadThe selective brush is what was giving me grief. Hopefully DXO keeps it going.I can't believe I have been using it for almost 15 years. I don't know if the situation is similar, but for me Color Efex always crashes if I access it by Filter>Nik Collection>Color Efex. However, if I access it from the Nik Collection Selective Tool thing, everything is OK. For whatever reason, that thing is usually active. But if it isn't, I can get it under File>Automation Tools. Accessing it is fine, but if you have it set to create a new layer when finished with editing, it crashes. You have to manually create a new layer for it to work on. Annoying, but not $70 annoying. The Nik Collection photo editing suite is back again, but this time the latest iteration of the popular plugin has a modest price tag. The has had an interesting and somewhat troubled history. It started life as a DxO product with a professional price tag of $500. And dropped the price down to $150. A few years went by without updates to the plugin, and in 2016, Google announced it would make it. While this was great news for those who used and wanted to start using the software, the worry was that Google would no longer support it. Sure enough,, leaving many photographers uncertain of what their future editing workflows would look like. However, in a surprising turn of events, with plans to restart development and support. And now, Nik Collection is finally back again. The introductory price is $49.99 and is good through the end of June. Starting July 1, it will be priced at $69. Nik Software 2018I welcome this development, as it bodes well for future support and development of the program. I use the Color Efex Pro Photoshop plugin often as part of my landscape and cityscape editing workflow and am excited that as I continue to update to the latest version of Adobe CC, I'll be able to count on Nik Collection to work seamlessly. What are your thoughts on the latest for the Nik Collection? I've been a NIK customer from the get-go and I was delighted to learn that DxO was resuscitating this superb collection of filters. I immediately bought it via the DxO website and recieved a download code which didn't work to activate the plugins. I contacted tech support who responded (2 days later) with a suggestion which also didn't work to resolve the issue. When contacted again, the DxO tech team suggested I jump through numerous complicated hoops to troubleshoot their software's activation issues. Nik Software 2018 FreeIt shouldn't be this much trouble to simply activate the software. With that in mind, I've thrown in the towel and have requested my money back. 'The Nik Collection has had an interesting and somewhat troubled history. It started life as a DxO product with a professional price tag of $500.' Aneesh, that is not true!
